Science happens all around us—it does not end in school!
Our after-school and summer STEM programs engage students in educational experiences outside of the traditional school environment to keep students excited about STEM year-round.
S2S After-School Partners
Boys and Girls Club
In Spring 2021, we partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of NJ (BGC) as part of an effort to bring our STEM experiences to after-school programs. With BGC, we helped address pandemic-related learning loss among students in economically disadvantaged communities. A 10-week virtual pilot program launched in Winter/Spring 2021 with the BGCs of Hudson, Mercer, Passaic/Paterson, and Northwest NJ (Wayne and Pequannock). Our long-term goal is to expand this partnership across the state of New Jersey and nationwide.
Oasis
One of Student 2 Science’s first afterschool partners, the Oasis nonprofit in Paterson, NJ, provides children and women in need with educational and social service programs. We partnered together in 2018 as we expanded our program to non-traditional settings. Since then, we have engaged hundreds of children in hands-on STEM experiences through the Oasis youth development program.
